Menu Planning

So far this week, we have followed the menu.  Some may look at the menu and think “wow, they sure do eat a lot of fattening food.”  Let me just say, that is very true of this particular menu.  I was just so excited that my family actually sat down together and planned a menu.

My philosophy with our journey into leading the frugal life is that the whole family has to become active or it’s not going to work.  Sure, they (my hubby and my son) will eat what I cook but I’m trying to instill decision making skills and commitment into my teenage son.

I’ve been doing more research into meal planning and frugal grocery shopping and have decided that “meal planning” or “menus” will be my topics for the next couple of posts.

Cynthia Townley Ewer in a post dated November 4, 2007 on Organized Home, said that “menu planning takes time. ”  She points out that menu planning can save money, save time, and be nutritional.   That is my new goal — save money, save time, and be nutritional.  It’s a goal that can be reached!!!

  1. I’ve never done a menu, but I’m going to have a baby in September and will be needing to get more organized. I look forward to reading your site and hearing your suggestions.
