It’s the time of year when fresh vegetables will ripening and soon will be picked. Truck farmers who got an early start are starting to show up on the sides of the roads and in empty parking lots. Farmers markets are becoming busy (better get there early, if you go to one).
There are many rewards to vegetable gardening. I’m not going to even try to list them but the obvious reward of planting a vegetable garden is the savings.
I’ve been reading some of the vegetable gardening blogs and really like the information that is given by The Gardenaut Twelve. The snow in June was really pretty. I’m glad that Missoulachick not lose all of her garden.
The Helpful Gardener has some really good ideas. The article about heirloom tomatoes made me wish that I had planted tomatoes this year.
Believe I may be planting a vegetable garden next year! For this year though, I’ll be getting up early on Saturday and going to the farmers markets.
Till the next post… have a great day… The Frugal Housewife
