We went to Wal-Mart today with a very limited budget. Payday is not until next week and I’m trying to stick to the budget. We had our list made and we followed it until…. Well,
We went by the Christmas clearance aisle.
They had some beautiful Christmas ornaments. They were marked down 75%. Just couldn’t pass that one up. I did stick to the color scheme of my Christmas tree this year. I was really proud of myself…I only picked up two packages of ornaments — 24 red ornaments for $1.25 and 24 gold ornaments for $.75.
My husband reminded me that we were on a budget and that they weren’t on the list but I justified it that they were marked down from the original $5.00 price. I’m planning to go back around payday and see if they have marked the ornaments down some more. Who knows, they may. They had around 4 aisles of ornaments, cards, and other Christmas decorations.
Now I know that going $2.00 off the budgeted list isn’t all that bad. But for a reforming spendaholic, going off the budget even a little can be bad. All in all, we stuck to the budget and only went off of it the price of the ornaments. I’d say we did pretty good and maybe we are finally learning to be frugal!!!

I went there, too on the weekend and bought some Christmas decor. Couldn’t pass up some of those deals. I got a couple of ornaments and then a red sparkley tree made out of tinsel I guess. I actually wanted more but my dh was there, so that is probably a good thing though
