Yesterday we went to several craft stores looking for a silk fall centerpiece for our kitchen table. I really couldn’t believe the prices on some of these centerpieces. The cheapest one I could find was $50. It didn’t even have any fillers and was basically cut silk flower stems stuck into the hay bale. So I thought why not make one. I bought several items totalling about $15. This is how it turned out. In the next couple of days, I’ll publish the step by step How To.
Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!
Till next time,

We recently decorated for the fall and Halloween. The kids loved it. My mom loves to go buy stuff right after the season and store it away for next year.
That’s very pretty. I did a fall display once, starting with a hay bale. What I mess I had in my car trunk. I swear half of it came off when I put it in the trunk, and half fell apart on the way out. I think what I needed was a pickup truck for that chore!
It did have a lot of hay that fell off when I took it out of the plastic. I’m not sure what I can do about it if it starts shedding more. I’ll have to think about that one!
It seems that you did lot of hard work for hunting nice Silk fall centerpiece, but you made that nice one. Good try though, Cheers!
Is it just me, or is $50 a ridiculous price for something that’s just a decoration? I’m not crafty in any way and have every respect for those who are. You are so right not to pay that, but to make your own. And it will be so much more meaningful.
It’s not just you. $50 was way to much to pay. Wish I had taken a picture on my cell to post of the one that was for sale. May go back and take one and do a side by side.
I also saw the prices in the stores and can’t say I was that impressed even by the $50+ offerings. Looking forward to your instructions.
The how-to should be finished this weekend. I’m planning on having step by step with pictures or a video. Will post a link as soon as its ready!
I can’t wait to see the tutorial. I’m kinda inept when it comes to flower arranging so I’d love to see step-by-step instructions.
