How to Make a Fall Centerpiece — Part 1

It’s that time of year to start thinking about decorating for Thanksgiving. I love decorating my house with arrangements and wreaths decorated with the colors of fall.  It’s even more important to me now that I live in a part of the country where the seasons don’t change like back home in Tennessee.

Fall Centerpiece

You may remember that recently I went shopping for a new centerpiece and couldn’t believe my eyes when I priced one that was $50. The floral pieces were just placed any way in the bale of hay and it really wasn’t very pretty.  So I decided to make my own.  It was fairly easy to do and I’m going to give some step by step on how I made it.

Most of the supplies can be found cheaply at Walmart or a dollar store. I never buy the really expensive bunches of flowers or picks. They can get quite expensive.  The supplies that you need to buy are:

A small bale of hay – these can be found at a craft store such as Michaels or Hobby Lobby – I paid $4.99 for mine.

Several bunches of fall flowers.  I like to vary the colors.  I bought 3 for mine.  Make sure to look at the bunch to see if there are any flowers missing from the ends.  You don’t want to buy a bunch that has a lot that has been pulled off and are missing.

Two picks of fall berries

A pick of berries and pumpkins

Floral wire

Wire cutters

Check back tomorrow for part 2 — How to Assemble the Centerpiece!

Till next time,

  1. Fall is cool. I like the change in weather also. Most of the decorating around my home has to do with Halloween. I’m going to be doing pumpkins with the kids tomorrow.

  2. Oh this is beautiful!
