Cyber Monday — What You Should Know!
November 30th is Cyber Monday, the online version of Black Friday! There is sure to be an abundance of great online sales. Along with great sales there will also be online scams. What can you do to make your Cyber Monday shopping experience the best that it can be?
1. Check out cybermonday.com. The Cyber Monday site is the National Retail Federation site. The National Retail Federation is the world’s largest retail trade association. Some of the members include department stores, specialty stores, discount stores, and catalog store, just to name a few. Cybermonday.com offers information regarding deals, shopping offers, and coupons. You’ll be able find a lot of information at this site.
2. Search the net for coupon codes. Currentcodes.com and retailmenot.com offer an abundance of codes.
3. Use a reward site to access a retail store site such as Upromise, which offer points or even cash for going through their site to shop.
4. Make sure to compare prices. You wouldn’t want to order from one site only to find the same thing at another site for a cheaper price. Which brings me to my next tip –
5. Watch out for scams. If the price is too low, it’s more than likely too good to be true or legit. Know the sales prices and walk away from deals that are too good to be true.
6. When visiting a new site that you’ve never visited before, look for grammatical and spelling errors. These are sure indications that the site is a scam site.
7. Use a credit card for payment. If you shop at a site that asks for a wire transfer, steer clear. Often it is a scam site and it will be hard to get your money back.
8. If you visit a site that you are not sure about, make sure that there is a verifiable address, telephone number, and email address. If you can’t verify that the information is legit, then don’t shop at the site.
The best tips of all is to shop at reputable, well known retailers that you know and trust.
