Linkbucks.com
Today when checking my stats I found a link to Linkbucks.com that had sent over a small amount of visitors. When I clicked the link, it took me to my blog with the Linkbucks.com header on it.
I don’t remember signing up with these people. I went to the sign-in and used all the user id’s and passwords that I normally would use. None of them worked. I typed in my email address to retrieve the password and guess what! It didn’t exist in their system.
It appears someone has signed up my blog with them and they are trying to earn money off my blog. I’ve sent an email to Linkbucks to get an answer as to how my blog is showing up. I’ve not heard back from them. How sad is it that someone would sign someone else’s blog up to try and earn money!
If any of my readers know anything about Linkbucks, please leave me a comment.
Till next time,

Linkbucks work with any links. I use it on one of blogs.
For example, I can blog about this blog post of yours and post links to your blog as reference. Doing so will leave a trackback right?
Now, I can also use bit.ly or tr.im to shorten the url but that won’t leave a trackback though. Linkbucks act just like those link shortening services, the only difference is that they can be monetized by displaying ads when clicked.
Anyone can shorten any links and use linkbucks to do it. They didn’t sign up your blog.
How can they earn money from your blog?
I don’t think that someone signing up in linkbucks.com and use you blog for earning money. Actually that someone that knows your blog and sharing your blog but using the linkbucks.com link as the referring link. so i can say that none of someone trying to make money from your blog. It just they just linking someone link with linkbucks.com link. It just work like tinyurl or other similar service that shorten a real link. The different that link from linkbucks.com will earn some money.
You can go to this link (http://www.linkbucks.com/webusers/) to find out how it works. So basically you don’t need to worry because the linkbucks.com link doesn’t harm your blog or neither someone make money from your blog.
Hope my comment can help about this.
That is so weird. I’m interested to see what they tell you.
Wow! How low some people stoop just to get a extra bucks. Disgusting! I’ll try to check out linkbucks.
I never heard of that one. But that is awful that they are using your blog to make money. I might check it out just for the fun of it and see what it is all about.
I don’t know anything about Linkbucks, but I got hacked last week. We need to really safeguard our blogs these days, some of these unscrupulous people will do anything to make a few extra bucks! Good luck, I hope your problem gets solved real soon!
I hate sites like that. I have found a few sites that call themselves “directories” – they put their header up over your site. VERY wrong. And it is always a time trying to get them to take you off. People will do anything to make a buck on the internet – and they don’t care who they hurt. Frustrating!
How pathetic! And I don’t even know how that would work. =(
Linkbucks is another online money-making program for bloggers. What it does is it converts the links on a blog to Linkbucks links which will result to websites opening on a window with the Linkbucks ad either as the intro page or a bar on the top. No one can sign you up to Linkbucks and make money from your blog without changing the script of your blog. There are codes they need to put in to do that. So, it could be that some people who link to you on their blogs have Linkbucks so whenever someone clicks on your link, it’ll open up like that.
I’ve never heard of them. How bizarre that someone is doing blog identity theft! Are people just totally nuts?
I know nothing about this company but HOLY COW that’s crazy!
Keep us posted on what you find out, OK?
You should msg support for info on whos making money off your name
I can’t believe someone would do that!
It sounds like they have a problem with people hijacking others websites – I pulled this from their site:
The following activities may result in suspension or account termination:
• Fraudulently generating impressions via: bots, scripts, auto-refreshes, iframes, pops, etc.
• Using links for uses other then intended such as popping intermissions pages.
• Hacking other websites illegally to display or pop your links.
• Embedding your links in malware or programs without user consent.
• Distributing illegal content or child pornography.
• Unwelcome spamming of other sites without permission using your links.
• Encouraging your users to click on advertisements that appear on links.
• Extremely poor ad click-through rate on your links. (this is mostly due to the above)
I’ve never heard of them. I’ll have to check my blogs. Hope you let us know the outcome.
Hmmm. . . .never heard of Linkbucks.com, but do have several friends in the last month who have people who have gotten their emails and started sending stuff out – what a mess!!
Never heard of this Linkbucks.com??? Beware, I guess?
LinkBucks offers two options: A) you get link to the image on ImageRevenue (example). You put this link through their program and they change the link into monetized link (you get paid if someone clicks on it). Many bloggers use this for distributing pictures on their blogs. B) they get you some javascript code, which you then put in header or footer of your blog. This javascript will turn all your blog links into monetizing links. Every link which will be clicked will bring money to the owner of javascript.
Usercash was the similar web service!
:mobile Dummy” Linkbucks earnings are a bit depressing. I have been using them for over 6 months, and I earned an average of $0.25 per month – which is a total waste of time. Three weeks ago, I switched over to a site that I just heard about, http://www.skyzop.com – and already I have earned 3 times that amount. The reason why I think is that the overall system is better than Linkbucks, and the payments are higher. The Skyzop also gives the members alot of ways to earn, like upload video, or pic, and create blog, or write reviews. Pretty cool.
