Frugal Housewife Updates

Today is going to be somewhat of an unusual day here at The Frugal Housewife.  We are going to have multiple posts.  One will show up in the today’s post and then the others will show up down in the regular posts — the Purex Review is going to show up in a lower post but will be moved to the highlight post later.

I can wide opne my mouth, too

1.  Update to the Linkbucks.com post

First, thanks for all the support that I have been given in response to the Linkbucks.com post.  I have since got more information and a response from the staff at Linkbucks.com.

What is Linkbucks.com? Thanks to blankPixels for the following explanation.

“Linkbucks is another online money-making program for bloggers. What it does is it converts the links on a blog to Linkbucks links which will result to websites opening on a window with the Linkbucks ad either as the intro page or a bar on the top. No one can sign you up to Linkbucks and make money from your blog without changing the script of your blog. There are codes they need to put in to do that. So, it could be that some people who link to you on their blogs have Linkbucks so whenever someone clicks on your link, it’ll open up like that.”

This was basically the same response that I got from the staff at Linkbucks. For other comments, please see the original post.

One can understand that someone never having heard of Linkbucks would come to the conclusion that I came to when I clicked the link on my ISP providers list of visitors.  In fact, I may have to check them out further and see if their program complies with my Google Adsense and if it does I may have to try them out.

To repeat,  no one signed my blog and is making money on it, although that is what one would think looking at the screen that I featured in my last post.  I am big enough (literally and figuratively) to admit when I’ve jumped to a wrong conclusion.  One thing you can always be sure of … when I’m wrong I’ll always admit it,  which brings me to my next point in this update….

2.  Entrecard Controversy Earlier This Week

As some Entrecard users may know by now, there’s been a bit of a controversy this week.  I’m not going to go into all of it but basically a blogger has posted a list of other bloggers that he says is “cheating” the Entrecard system.  Some of the blogs on there have explained what they do when they drop on other people’s blogs.  This does not appear to have appeased the person who made the post and he continues to call these people “cheaters”, even after Entrecard has posted an explanation on it’s blog and “fixed” what was causing the problem to begin with.   Now there are some on the list that were trying to “cheat” the system and it was obvious which ones were but there were also others on there that were not “cheaters” and wouldn’t know how to cheat a system if they tried.  They have been visitors to this blog, commented and participated in giveaways and bloghops and we, at The Frugal Housewife, know you are not “cheating” the system.    We know that you are actually stopping by this blog and visiting and we are sorry that this accusation has been posted against you. Please know that we support you and your blogs and will continue to do so.

This controversy has inspired a post that will be posted in the upcoming days on one of my other blogs, His Grace and Blessings.

3.  Are you an Email Newsletter Subscriber?

If you are a subscriber to The Frugal Housewife’s Newsletter and have not opened the last newsletter, there is a special invitation to a new group that I’ve formed.  I’m reserving the spots for the newsletter subscribers for a few more days.  I will be extending the same invitation that the newsletter subscribers received to the blog in the next post.  It’s a group that I’m excited about and hope you will visit the post to see what the group is.

Now on to write the next two posts.  That’s right, two more posts will be made today — one with the invitation to the group and the other the review of the Purex 3-in-1 sheets.

Till next time,

JT Locke
