The Sunday Paper

Sunday's Coupon Insert

Does anyone read the Sunday paper?  If you are a couponer, you probably go for the coupon inserts first.  That’s what usually happens in our house.  Today I had read that there were going to be 3 coupon inserts in our newspaper.  The Frugal Hubby was such a sweetie today.  He went up the road to the convenience store and bought us a paper.  It was easy to divide the paper — I took the coupons, the sales circulars, and the classifieds.  He got the rest, going for the sports section first.

Today I was especially ready to look at the coupons because I had read on Sunday Coupon Preview that there was supposed to be a Purex Liquid Detergent or  3-in-1 B1G1 free and a $1/1 Folgers coffee.  Never thinking about the offer varying by location, I eagerly started for the coupon.  Guess what!   Our location was one of those varying by locations.  I found the Folgers coupon — it was for $.25/1 but there was no Purex coupons.  No problem.  I’ll just keep watching each week.  Our location may come up a later date for the coupon and I’ll also call my mom in Tennessee and see if it was in her paper.

So…lesson learned… remember the coupon inserts vary by location, location, location!

  1. Here’s something that seemed strange to me at first, till I thought about it, but it’s really not much different than buying a paper for the coupons in it.

    Buying coupons on eBay.

A woman at work told me about it. Maybe everybody else already knows about it but me, but it was new to me.

It really only pays if you plan to buy a bunch of something to stock up, since they usually sell a dozen or more identical coupons together, but if you know something goes on sale regularly and you buy a dozen coupons for it and wait to pounce the next time it’s on sale, it really brings the price down.

  2. Just a thought: I almost overlooked mine. It was on the back of one of the inserts!
