5 Lessons Learned From the Pepsi Bath!

In May, I wrote about the Pepsi bath that my Blackberry took and the tips I found on what to do if your Blackberry took a dive into liquid. I gave an update a couple of days later and the lights were still on!  It’s been a while and I’m happy to report that the Blackberry is still working!  The “a” sticks every now and then and the “space bar” sticks but they actually seem to be getting a little better.

There are 5 Lessons I have learned from this experience.

1.  Don’t have the Blackberry near any liquid!

2.  Always keep white rice on hand just in case it happens a third time in my life.

3.  Keep the deductible for the insurance on hand in the back of my wallet so if my tips for drying the phone out don’t work then I can go turn it in on the insurance.

4.   Don’t cook the white rice after the Blackberry has spent the night in it.  (No I didn’t cook it but with the state of mind that I’ve been in lately I easily could have!)

5.  Don’t tell too many family members that you have dunked another phone.  I’ll never live it down and they won’t let me near their phones.

Till next time,

just so you know- my phone took a trip down the garbage disposal, it was very quickly rescued before it fully reached the blades, but was fully soaked. i dried it out and it worked perfectly for about 6 more months, then started acting up. i never thought months later that it would still be affected, because i would have gotten out all my pics. since i waited they were unable to rescue my pics because the phone came to a point where it would no longer turn on. i lost all the pics i had of my son (still alive), and my deceased dog together. just seems like i never had the camera around, just my phone… get your info out now, the phone will not last!

  3. Thanks! So far my phone is still working…it went screen first into the Pepsi. The “a” still sticks and the “spacebar” sticks a bit. I’m hoping that it will hold on till October when we can upgrade our package. I’ve already downloaded pics and written down phone numbers that I don’t have anywhere else.
