My Hubby Told Me Not To Cook!!!

For the past three weeks, I’ve been searching, adapting,  and cooking a new dish every day. Last Wednesday, my hubby asked me to stop cooking for a while.  Now I could have taken it wrong but I didn’t.  He qualified it by saying that he’d like to eat a few lighter meals such as sandwiches or salads.  This lasted all of two days.  After the second day, he came home and asked what we were having for supper.  I replied, “Sandwiches.”  He decided he wanted me to start cooking again.

Over the weekend, I’ve hurt my right hand so I haven’t been able to lift anything or really get back into cooking. It hasn’t really helped the budget but I’ve decided that when we have to eat out then the amount of the bill is going to be deducted from the grocery budget.  We’ve ordered food that had large enough helpings that we can bring it home and warm again for the next day’s lunch.

What’s on the menu for the upcoming week?

Pork chops and salad

Chicken and Cheesy Potatoes

BBQ Hotdogs and Macaroni & cheese

I’m sure there will be some kind of crock pot recipe on the menu later in the week as well.

One last thing, I hope everyone has had a safe and happy Labor Day weekend.

Till Next Time,

Well…..Last Wednesday, I burned the back of my thumb when I was checking the crockpot to make sure it was heating up. I had come home at lunch and put on Beef Tips in French Onion Soup. I lifted the lid up and touched the outside of the unit. My thumb hit the metal rim at the top. It didn’t really hurt until Thursday morning. It started swelling and now there is a nice blister that has come up. At first I thought I had been bit by a carpenter ant when I went out to feed my outside cats. There were some ants under the bowl when I lifted it. But when the burn blister came up across nearly the entire back top portion of my thumb I realized what it was.
