Well, we’ve got some good news for you! Home organization solutions don’t have to cost a lot of money and you don’t have to do it all at one time.
In fact, these ideas re-purpose something intended for a different purpose into a GREAT home organization idea. Anyone can do these home organization hacks! A couple of these ideas would probably take more than one day but most are quick and easy! You could do these on the weekend!
1. Use Large File Boxes to Store Shopping Bags
This home organization idea uses large, clear plastic file boxes. Take them and drill them to the wall! What do you have? A perfect place to store shopping bags in a hidden out-of-the-way spot!
We love this idea featured on The Kitchn from Kristin Bauer at Everyday Organizing! Great idea, Kristin!
2. Convert That Old Magazine Rack to Chic Cookie Sheet and Muffin Pan Organizer
Got an old magazine rack that is destined for the trash heap? Don’t throw it out! Use it to create this chic, upcycled Cookie Sheet and Muffin Pan Rack! Two great ideas in one — Upcycle an old item and free up some space in your pots and pans cabinet!

3. Turn a Spice Rack Into a Stylish Nail Polish Rack
Give that spice rack a new glam look by painting it and turning it into a nail polish rack! You can keep all your nail supplies together in these racks. Line the shelves up or stagger them! They will look wonderful!
Don’t have a lot of nail polish? Use this idea for any of your bathroom products. Just hang them where you need them in the bathroom for cute storage and in easy reach! Be sure to visit This Mom’s Gonna Snap to get more ideas.
4. Stylish Yarn Storage
This is one of my favorite home organization tips that I found while doing the research for this post. If I didn’t have a cat that would pull out all of my yarn, I would do this one!
Have a lot of yarn but not a lot of wine? Turn that wine rack into stylish yarn storage. Put it near where you sit to crochet or knit for ease in storing your project yarn. Just change out the yarn colors for each project! Be sure to visit Pretty Prudent to see how it looks!
5. Under Bed Drawer Storage
Give your old chest of drawers a second life. There are so many different things that you can do to make them into something else. Just think outside the box and turn it into something else.
Take the drawers out of it. Give the drawers a new coat of paint. Put some wheels on it. Create an under the bed storage unit! Be sure to keep the cabinet section. Use it to make a bookcase! Check out Tinker With This to see how they created an under the bed storage unit.
6. Silverware Tray as a Jewelry Organizer
Silverware trays aren’t just for silverware! You can use them to create storage for just about anything.
Transform a silverware tray into a jewelry organizer by spray painting it and hanging it at eye level for more convenience. Choose multiple colors to add variety to a teenagers room. Or, choose a coordinating paint for an adult’s room. Check out Tatertots and Jello to see how they made three jewelry organizers!
7. Simple Tank Top Organizer
I don’t know about you but my tank tops usually get stored in whichever drawer has space to put them. This means that they may all be in different drawers. It would be so great to keep them all in one spot where I could see them!
With this organizing idea, you can do just that! You will need a clothes hanger and shower rings. It doesn’t get much easier than that!

8. Easy Peasy Marker Caddy
Nothing is more frustrating than needing your marker and not being to find it! For me, it’s not just markers but pens, pencils, highlighters also. I love this very, very simple idea to make storage for my markers, pens, and highlighters!
All you need for this one is a shoebox and several toilet paper rolls. It doesn’t even require any glue unless you want to decorate the shoe box.
